3.7 fixed update is out

The new update with 100 000 extra kills and unlocked characters for those of you who posted their achievements online is now available. See the previous blog post for instructions.

NOTE: This update is able to grant you extra kills and unlock your characters if your game contains a save file from the buggy Episode 3.7 (v1.27). If you are updating from Episode 3.6 (v1.26) or earlier, your save file is from an earlier version. If you deleted Minigore and are installing the latest update from a clean slate, you don't have a save file at all. The extra kills and characters can be granted for anyone who experienced a data loss and has a save file from the buggy Episode 3.7 (v1.27) when updating to the latest version.

  3. hey ummm i updated..i didnt get my 100,000 kills...the characters are still locked...i logged in my openfeit n i still didnt get my chracters accounts name is Scar09...wat happen???the update didnt work =( the person who commented first too...

    Great work, but is there a way to get our old highscores from previous episodes to show up in the app's leaderboards again. They are on OpenFeint, but not in the app anymore on the highscores tab. Minor problem I know but thanks.

  13. I deleted the game few days ago because i lost all my save, and I reinstall him this day, so i don't have 100 000 kill and I don't have my old characters, but I play with OpenFeint so, can I recup my characters ?

  15. Glad you guys came through! Problem: Had previously purchased all in-app upgrades, lost all with the first 3.7, deleted on the phone, and re-installed 3.7.1; When I go to re-purchase the hardland premium characters, it tells me I've already purchased, but I get a non-stop spinning head at the character page. When I log onto OpenFeint I see all characters unlocked (except Sensei Evan), but this doesn't seem to transfer to the game. What am I doing wrong?

  17. @SlyyRox: You cannot get the characters back in this version of the game, because you don't have a save file from the buggy Episode 3.7.

    OpenFeint achievements are unlocked when you reach the kill count required for a character and we are looking into making the game give you kills based on the achievements you have unlocked. You could then use those to purchase any characters you want. If this is doable it is likely to make it into the next update.

  19. @Anon: I am truly sorry for the trouble. You can get your paid upgrades back at any time. If you click "BUY NOW" on the premium characters and log on to the same iTunes account you used to purchase the characters, you will be able to download the characters again for free. iTunes will not charge you twice for the characters.

  23. lol i suffered the data loss and deleted the game after the fixed version came out i resynced my minigore episode 3.6 on my ipod touch and then updated it to the fixed version and now i dont have any kills and all my characters are locked thank you mountainsheep i hate you know.I played MiniGore since episode 1 and now im going to quit.

    Let me tell you my problem, maybe you can solve it...
    I had 3.6, updated to buggy 3.7, then lost all. didnt uninstalled minigore and just updated when 3.7 was out. didnt received 100k kills, and, none of my chars are unlocked, since i use openfeint and have the achievements. (dont have xmas gore and sensei). obviously i got my paid chars fine, but what i do now? how can i unlock my chars?

  25. Guerrilla Bob owns Minicrap any day! Why else would MountainShit allow a crossover where Bob gets to kick John's ass? Seriously, you fanboys need to realise how big a problem you have sticking up for this piece of junk game.

    Oh and I got my 100,000 kills and blah, no motivation to play what-so-ever. Worse than before. Piece of shit game + piece of shit developers. No content, no good updates.

    Just wanted to say to you guys that the fix worked perfectly for me. I've been playing sincd the original release and can't wait to see what you guys do next.

    To the rest of your morons yammering on without having listened to what Mountain Sheep have been saying or following basic instructions: when you come here to air your grievances please, PLEASE, at least learn how to spell so that someone can actually follow your deranged ramblings.

    Once again, great work Mountain Sheep - the rest of you pull your hands off your dicks and learn basic spelling and grammar or get the hell off the Internet.

  27. @Cybertox: Syncing to Episode 3.6 (and running it!) will create a save file for Episode 3.6. You need a save file for the buggy Episode 3.7 in order to get the characters.

  28. @Eduardo: I can't say exactly what went wrong. You should have received your 100k kills and characters if you did indeed upgrade from the buggy 3.7. See my answer to SlyyRox for our plans on granting you kills based on your achievements in the next update (provided it's doable).

  29. @Anon: The folks at Angry Mob Games are our good friends and I completely understand if you prefer Guerrilla Bob. I mean, if you're happy playing Bob and don't like playing Minigore, who am I to stop you? Many people like playing both games. It's a free world.

  31. Why isn't there a system where kills are accumulated and recorded in OpenFeint with a leaderboard so kills cannot be lost? Then characters could be unlocked for having certain numbers of kills rather than physically spending those kills. You would for example then just need to get 1m kills for Sensai and the unlock him but retain the kills.
    This would probably be hard to change now, but may have been a better system.

  33. Wow kimmo, that, this episode is amazing. It does keep it fresh, i do love the new difficulty curve. I never updating to the buggy 3.7 so i cant say thanks for getting my characters back and all. But i really do love this episode. I have an idea for you though. Experimental game mode maybe?

    Well you start with the normal crates. Perhaps cardboard boxes. Low health, dont do anything when you destory them. When you do destroy one.
    It upgrades to level one, so the next time you get a crate it has slightly more health and a slightly different look. By the time it is upgraded to level 10 in this way it has alot of health and looks like a steel box. Or a crate. Or just metal. When you destroy it, a nuke goes off.

    Boxes can destroy each other.

    I was thinking:

    Level 0: Nothing

    Level 1: 5 Bullets

    Level 2: 7 Bullets

    Level 3: Amount of bullets we have now.

    Level 4: A hell of a lot of bullets travelling very damn fast.

    Level 5: Bullets exploded like a volcano and fly up into the sky, then down onto the furries.

    Level 6: Sticky bomb, a furry steps on it and it sticks to him. It goes off after 5 seconds taking out all furries in his vicinity.

    Level 7: Bait, little insects run somewhere random then the furries go and eat them. SURPRISE. BOOM. Bomb bugs. Or gas. Stink bugs?

    Level 8: A military radio is laid down. Mortar strike. Pick it up for a mortar strike.

    Level 9: Hardlandians come out to destroy the invaders for a couple of seconds. They dont follow you, just randomly walk round the map.

    Level 10: Big ass nuke.

    This adds two new elements to the game: Firstly, it makes you decide whether the best option is present gratification or deferred gratification (Kill furries now, or have guns to kill them for longer).
    Secondly, you have to decide whether you have the time to crack open the crate before the furries get you.

    Also it makes it more fast paced, IMO. I dont know if it would work though. What do you think?

  36. Hey Kimo, I remember seeing some other maps you were making for the in game map screen. One of them had to do with zombies. Did those other maps make it in the update as unlockables?

    Oh, and great fix. I did get ripped off of my 100,000 kills though, but I tried to cheat by buying Xmas gore first in hopes that I'd get sensei from openfeint. All I did was buy Xmas gore, and then was given Xmas gore (which techinically did nothing). Oh well, that's my own damn fault.

  38. I downloaded Guerrilla Bob to tide me over until this fix came out...and I much prefer Minigore. For a simple reason - Minigore controls are much smoother, it's more accessible and more fun.

    My suggestions would be - more variety in enemies, more different weapons and abilities...just something extra to KEEP me hooked all the way up to 1,000,000 kills.

    Anyway, keep it up, you've got a fan here.

  39. Great idea @Anonymous, who said about the exploding crates, I think this would work really well, as all other weapons and things upgrade, so the crate exploding should as well. Maybe you could add this as a separate weapon?

  40. this suks. i updated to 3.71 or whatever it is and didnt get my kills or next character or all my characters, but i did get my expert and insane achievements. so i deleted and redownloaded to see if it wud giv me my stuff but it didnt. so now what do i do?

  41. lol! I love the crate idea! I hope they add it. Now you need a zombie map (seriously guys, you have a zombie character, but no zombie map!?!?), and a Guerrilla Bob map where the map is similar to the end of the last level in the Guerrilla Bob campaign (except bigger) and it has Guerrilla Bob as the boss instead of Wormwolf.

    I have 220 points in minigore achievements in openfeint, so all my chars are there, hope GET BACK my sensei on the next update.

  45. Meh, I had a corrupt save file, I updated minigore, I didnt get anything (yes, opened OF and went to the achievements just in case, then to the char selection screen). I have screenshots of my corrupt gamefile, i.e., me unlocking something, going home and back and them nothing. Then I re-dld minigore and also nothing happened.

    Good job on this one...

    I'm not gonna bash like the rest, just suggest you add instructions the next time, now I know I won't be getting my chars, nor the next one or the 100k kills even though I suffered from the loss. GL with the rest of the fanbase, I'm not doing that all over again.



  46. Meh great, I lost my characters forever then, didnt get them with the update even though I have OF since day one and even picture proof of having a corrupt save file/losing data.

    Better instructions would be appreciated next time, gl with the rest of you community, you lost this one here.

  48. This really isnt fair! I had unlocked everything up to envirobear and when I lost it all, I deleted it because all my hard work was wasted.
    However I don't think this is a reason to not grant back my kills! Can't you at least do an update to unlock openfeint achievements? Or a feature in the options menu to restore achievements!? I thought it was fixed but now I'm just going to delete it agian..

  49. If you're having trouble with your achievements, try this:

    DO NOT UPDATE ON YOUR PC. If you already did, delete the new one and pull the old one out of the trash can.

    Delete Minigore from your iDevice.

    Sync the 'bad' version to your iDevice, open up Minigore and log in to Open Feint. Score some points then check your achievements. Close Minigore, then re-open and make sure you lost your data.

    Next, update Minigore ON YOUR DEVICE ONLY. Open up Open Feint and let it log you in. Check your achievements, unlock paid characters if you had any, and get some kills. You should have the next character unlocked.

    I still had trouble at this point, so I deleted Minigore from iDevice and re-sync'd the 'bad' version back to my iDevice. Opened up, checked achievements in Open Feint, played, closed / re-opened, saw data was lost, then updated ON DEVICE ONLY.

    After the third or fourth iteration of installing the old version from my computer and updating to the latest version on my iDevice, everything was as it should have been.

    I'm happy with the update / resolution, even though it took a little fiddling to get it to work for me...

  54. hey timmo and kimmo i like what ginger said and what the anon said about there being a veriety of enemies but i was thinking that in different maps there are different enemies like in snow map its frozen furries and instead of them being on fire they have a blizzard around them and the boss is the abominable snowman also in the zombie level it should be zombie hardlanders that have guns that shoot 1 every ten seconds instead of fire and also a boss map that has a weird background thats all different colors and its just a hord of bosses that, at night, form together to make a frankenstein (which shoud also be an unlockable character at 1,000,000,000 kills so nobody gets him in a short amount of time like ozzy or sirdarkened who are really good) and after 100,000 points you come out of the weird place and theirs onelast boss thats pretty much impossible to beat without franky (who should have a really powerful weapon) cause he has metal armor thats only impenetrable with the grenadelauncher lv 10 and every minute he stomp the ground or somthing and medium furries surround you and theres probably what 30 or 40 around you and only 2 hold the boxes

  59. Hey MS, the update is awesome as usual! For some reason it won't let me buy the bundle with Santa, Easter Bunny, and Zombie Gore. Do you have any idea what's wrong? Also I thought i'd post about a few ideas, including the zombie map so many people have been talking about. Well here they are!

    Suicide Furry: A green Furry that explodes when shot three times. If it manages to touch you it deals double damage, but when they explode they take out all furries within the range of the explosion.

    Zombie Map: A map where you kill zombies risen from their graves instead of furries. A zombie for each character you have unlocked appears in the map, therefore making it easier for the new players and harder for the hardcore minigore fans!

    New Options: The ability to turn off Suicide and Predator Furries

  60. Oh and I forgot to mention one of my ideas. There should be a mode called apocalypse, where there are so many furries you are expected to die in under 45 seconds. The good side to it is that for every furry you kill, you get double the points. To unlock this mode, you have to have killed a lifetime total of 250 predator furries.


  61. Sorry for posting so many times, but I have one last piece of advice. Instead of a lot of different things in one update that takes a month to make, I think it would be cool if you worked on smaller updates that come around every two weeks.

  63. I commented earlier on what a great update you guys made, and since everyone is posting new game ideas, I've come up with some character traits for already available characters since Mountain Sheep said they eventually wanted all characters to be unique.

    John/Jerry Gore - Normal

    When selecting characters besides John and Jerry, allow them to choose between special traits and a regular mode. (Playing like John/Jerry)

    Zombieville Guy - Shotgun/Grenade Launchers have a little more ammo when obtained

    Hook Champ/Kid Gore - A. (Can only take two hits, but move twice the default speed when walking and in Beast mode) OR B. (3 hits, Move 1.5 the normal speed.)

    Lizzy - Can take four hits from tougher skin

    Evan Hsu - Shotgun/Grenade Launcher/Beast Mode start out at higher level when obtained (Ex - In Insane Mode, first special is level 5 for other characters, but Evan is initially level 6 instead; In Normal, first special is level one, but Evan starts with level 2, and so on...)

    Xmas Gore/Santa - Clovers appear more often (Santa loves clovers according to game description)

    Easter Bunny - Starts out with single grenade launcher (that shoots Easter Eggs if possible)

  64. Downloaded "bug-free" update and received 100K kill count but have a question. In order to re-unlock "expert" (2000) and "insane" (6000) is that in one game? Each time I exit and re-enter game my score is set back to zero but I retain the overall kill count... to apply towards additional characters. I thought I remembered it being cumulative but may not be so...

  66. i looked at some of the ideas coming up and i want to contribute too. Here are some suggestions:
    Special traits for each character: other people have suggested some and i have no problem with those so use those
    New weapons: as having just 3 seems a little limited so some new ones might be: a flamethrower, heavy machine gun, rocket launcher, melee (crowbars, wooden planks chainsaws)
    story mode: i know this would be a big challenge but if u could create some levels that had a basic story behind them and differentiate from other levels
    new modes: some different levels would be good eg hunting, capture the flag, co-op
    more enemies: something other then furries would add a nice taste. examples: zombies, bears, other humans and characters, monsters
    more bosses: the wormwolf is cool but it could be expanded on: big furry, guerrilla bob, other characters, master of puppets, minotaur etc
    added features to the maps: the maps seem to just kind of sit there in the game and you can't really interact with them. Maybe some changes or more interaction would help
    finally this one is just for fun: cutscenes would help because and intro or some action scenes would be pretty cool

  68. I love the update, though is the fence and new graphics going to be added in in 4.0?
    Anyway two suggestions:
    1. A character with double wielding shotguns, preferably the Easter bunny or Santa
    2. The option to turn predator furry on or off because he's a great addition to the game but extremely annoying when trying to get a high score, or just get back my old one.

  69. Sensei Evan kinda suck dude. I thought he'd be better. The grenade launcher ain't that effective on close range - shotgun and the machine gun are way awesome-er. And with the predator furry, it wasn't hard. Just more annoying. Barely made it past 15k -.-" Improvements - Faster launcher rate for Sensei. He is Sensei Evan after all :)

  70. I was gonna say as it says survival under the current maps, why don't you create a scenario where you have to get through a hardland village or something similar.

    Oh and the update worked fine for me I got all my characters + Xmas gore.

  71. Thank you so much Timo + Kimmo + the rest of MS for all the hard work that you put into the fix for the bug, i really appreciate it. i can't wait to see what you guys do in future updates. just two things i'd like to suggest
    1. we have the ability to toggle music and SFX on and off, but an option to change the volume of each would be much appreciated, as when playing as Sensei E, i can't hear the awesome minigore soundtrack over the grenade launcher.
    2. i would love the addition of voice acting for more characters. i love the current vocal characters but i think the majority of the characters should get a voice, it would be awesome.

    im not suggesting anything game play wise as i think that you guys at mountain sheep always come up with the best ideas, just like the way you handled the loss of save data bug.
    Again a big thank you from me for the fix and i cant wait to see the amazing additions that will be made to minigore in the coming months. MINIGORE ROCKS!!

    You guys did a fantastic job with this fix. Even though I was one of the people who skipped christmas gore and was working straight to sensai evan... I am still pleased with the way the update was handled.

    Just make sure you get the new maps and co-op out!!! As soon as trenches released the co-op mode it shot straight to the top of the Australian app store. Please try and get the updates out in weeks rather than months :)))

    OH and are you going to release characters in the future that aren't dlc? (knight with melee?)

    Please please please try to make this happen. I restored 3.6 from my computer (after updating to broken 3.7 on my phone) after hearing another player's success - so I now lack a "broken" savefile and my 3.6 savefile doesn't have anything unlocked either. My characters ARE logged in OpenFeint (all but Sensei).

    If I'd known the fix was going to require a broken savefile, I would have left well enough alone. If you can support players like me who have OpenFeint logs but not a broken savefile, then everyone affected by this bug will be happy!

  78. Well I really hope you still pick some new features fron this blog.
    Here's my: now that many have unlocked sensei Evan there could be another 1 million kill character. It would be cool if there was a HUGE "tank" character that moves slowly and has a chaingun (or maybe dualwielding machineguns and one on his chest like welded. So 3 all-in-all)) when he gets 3 clovers he turns into this creature that is only half visible on the screen and every footstep makes an explosion (like a nade explosion).

    Well what do you guys think? :D I myself need some new goals in minigore.

  80. Hello guys, I've lost all scores, so finally I updated to the last fixed version, but didn't received any bonus. Much more important is that I can't remember exactly what pg i've purchased, and i don't wanna risk to be charged in trying the sort. So plz I trusted you in buying this game and expansion, now plz help you me to solve the mess you have done , in retrieving at least my purchased character list, and if it is possible to give me my score back. I am not an openfeint user.

  81. I think an animated cutscene, either 3d or cartoon like could be made pretty funny. Bullet time of course. And a massive, massive predator furry trying to hide in the bushes. Ha, fail. Then john walks up to him and goes, "This is for my legs!" or "Peek a boo this!" or "Hide 'n' seek, my FURRY. I mean fury!" And blasts him!

    My imagination runs away sometimes, i just think it would be so awesome. To have john screaming into the sky while he blasts furrys. You can add the puppet master in, and guerilla bob.

  83. Love the update, and even the predator furries after awhile! They are hell of a challenge and puts 'insane' back into insane mode. But it turns out that sensei Evan and grizzly bear is kind of useless now, with low firing rate, the predator furries always hits them first. So can mountain sheep look into it?

    Apart from that, I'm rly pleased with the update.

    1. get version 1.27(the bugged version) on your idevice. play a game with it, and quit and go back into it to create a "bugged save game"
    2. update your itunes minigore account with 1.271 and sync then go into the game and play a game. you will unlock the xmas gore character from your achievements. sync with OF.
    3. delete 1.271 from your iphone, and itunes. and reinstall bugged version 1.27 on your iphone. repeat step 1.
    4. repeat step 2. except that now since you "unlocked xmas gore" you will get sensei evan free because of your OF achievement.

    That's how you get free Sensei Evan along with a worthless 100k kills. Minigore has just lost all it's "drive to play more".

    Well done Mountain Sheep! I really love how you gave Sensei Evan to everyone for free! :D:D:D

  86. how about being able to customize the weapons your character starts with. say i chose to play as xmas gore, and before the game began a gun option came up. you can choose any gun/guns to start but they have to be unlocked first at 50,000 each and you have to do it for each character. end result being that i can play as xmas gore wielding a shotgun and a grenade launcher from the start.

  88. It's great, guys, that you have managed that bug, I've updated to 3.7 succsessfully today. But there is one thing about skill level curve. I've came to conclusion that number of kills in 3.6 was approximately (score)/3. So, when I got 30000 per match it was (30000-6000)/3 = 8000 kills. Now situation is changed - due to predator fury my averege score dropped to 10000, so I get ~1300 kills per match. The point is - it's became way to harder to get 1000000 kills for Sensei, and my previous highscore ~49000 is not actual now, since it's mutch harder to reach this level, so I can't track my progress in 3.7 through highscores.
    Can you make Sensei coast 300000 or 500000, due to this new circumstances, and make a new scoreboard, so I can watch my progerss again?

  91. Very unfair because i was one of the few people who did'nt update because i did not want my data lost but because i was careful i don't get my deserved extra 1,00,000 kills like everyone else. My open feint account name is Adam Ravo and i want my fair share. You may think that i'm being unfair but you gave back everyones well deserved characters and thats great but if you are going to give 1,00,000 out well give them to EVERYONE
