What Minigore is...

This is what you are going to get for less than a dollar!

-One level of full 3D world rendered in the beautiful storybook style of Minigore, full with bushes, trees and props. Be sure to avoid the terrain with poor visibility… there may be a summer camp for vicious Furries in there!

-The furries come in four shapes and sizes: the small Minifurry, the Furry, the lamentable Giant Furry and the most dangerous of them, the Firefurry, a fiesty flaming furry that is able to outrun even John Gore himself. Be warned — blasting a Giant Furry will split the creature into several furries that, if destroyed will split into Minifurries. It’s Russian Nesting Dolls with a vengeance.

-Three different weapons: the trusty machine gun with unlimited ammo, a double-barreled shotgun to give you an extra boost and an exploding booby trap to catch unsuspecting furries with.

-Feeling cornered? Turn the tables by collecting enough four-leaf clovers to unleash your inner beast and become the new worst enemy for the furries by running them over to really awesome banjo music! Seriously, not kidding about the banjo! Perform clover combos to maintain the beast for as long as possible.

-Conquer the online leaderboards with your crazy scores and brag about them using the built-in chat. Minigore is fully OpenFeint Enabled.

-Play while listening to the fully orchestrated original soundtrack with a taste of Monkey Island atmosphere in there, or if you prefer to blast away to your favorite trance beat, you can access your music collection directly in the game on the iPhone OS 3.0!

-The Egoraptor, Arin Hanson, creator of the insanely popular Metal Gear Awesome and other videos in the Awesome-series, starring as the voice of John Gore is something you don't want to miss!

-Support for both left and right landscape orientations for the screen.

-Expert mode: after learning the ropes, switch on the expert mode to unleash the full fury of the furries! Very useful for people who want to focus on improving their score.

-Automatic save on exit to never lose your new highscore.

Sound good yet? For the same $0.99 you will also get a free update with co-operative multiplayer, the mysterious mushroom and, of course, our contest winner Evan Hsu appearing with really weird goggles in the first update of the game.

Is the posted logo the final? What happened with the discussion over at TA?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Added a few pictures to spice it up!

Vince: The multiplayer is a definite yes. I can't say yet how long, as I haven't looked into the multiplayer code in detail, but I promise to keep you posted guys posted about it!

tosui: I better go easy on the banjo jokes. Wouldn't wanna get into a duel...

Everybody liked a different logo (including the original) over at TA. I couldn't really decide either. We'll stick with what people already know until we come up with something really cool or run out of time. :D

  24. I love the sound of it, but i think it would be better with a few more weapons... like a snowball launcher :)
    also maybe more stages?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Michael: There will be other free updates for sure than just the one.

Tony: I've fallen in love with the idea of a flamethrower. It would go well with your idea of a snowball launcher.

    ReplyDelete
  26. how do you like idea of adding wather effects? like rain,thunderstorm,snow..it would make already awesome graphics a complete masterpiece.

also, add like holes in the ground or something on expert mode to make it even more difficult?

  28. Hilarious... I found this game last night. My co-worker's name is John Gore and he looks exactly like mingore... though, he's not mini. Real life John Gore is about 6 foot 3.

The url is linked from my name and is a link to his picture on our company page. haha. Awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Are all the upcoming updates going to be free? or just some?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Whens the update coming????? I love the game though!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. There should be sons like egoraptOrs snake from metal gear awsome

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's awesome that you're putting in multiplayer! That's the one thing that I really wanted in this game! And now not to be greedy or anything but do you think there will be a story mode anytime soon? Myself and many other people reviewing this game in the app store believe that this game would be AMAZING with a story mode!

    Thanks for listening!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Awesome guys! Can't stop playing. I wonder what clover combos are exactly and how to do them

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hi Kimmo! This is Scott Maxwell's son Chad! I really like the game and was thinking that maybe you should add vehicles that double your health and that you can only run over mini furries. But to make it fair you should add a reload or overheating time for the weapon on the vehicle.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Where is this 3rd weapon being mentioned above - the booby trap. How do you use it and why is it that I haven't found it in game?? Great game though! 100,000 thousand sold? How much does apple make off each sale? Regardless you guys are making out like bandits, especially since it's like in beta phase meaning the games a skeleton compared to what it is going to be / planned on, at least based on the splash screen. Story mode hands down what this game needs. If you would of waited until the game was complete I woulda paid 10$ for it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Dude, the crate that holds the shotgun is the booby trap. You just shoot it until it explodes.

    ReplyDelete
  37. when will the update come? I'm still waiting....

    ReplyDelete
  38. First off if you guys did nothing more to the game it would still be my favorite game. Truly AMAZING and FUN. Here is a few suggestions I love that game zombieville where you can upgrade weapons by earning loot. I think giving John Gore a little hut or something he can revert to so he can BUY weapons, health, clovers, invincibility, endless possiblilities. It makes it incredibly fun to feel like your shooting to earn something that will benifit the character. I know new weapons are coming but make us earn them. The crate thing is a good idea but I think a hut or at the end of each wave have a shop to buy things. I think it would be kind of cool too if you can buy strength where John gets a little bigger each time, with some bulk or pecks or just a larger character but make that an expensive product. It really gives us as players a desire to keep coming back to earn more and more to better John. Thank you guys for all you do it is a true genious game. THANKS!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hahaha! The crate is the "booby trap"? That's lame, sorry and very weak. Oh and NOT a booby trap. You generally don't have to shoot a booby trap 20 times to kill "unsuspecting" things, and booby trap implies choice of where you put it, not randomly setup by an enemy you just killed. I think that is very misleading, I would not call the crate that has the shotgun in it a booby trap.

  40. Weather effects is something I'd personally like to see in other levels. I hope we have time for them, as lighting would be really cool to be combined with a night level!

We are looking into a good way of telling the story, but we can't announce anything yet.

You can use clover combos to make the beast mode last up to almost three times as long. Save an extra clover or a few and go pick them up before the beast mode starts fading out.

Hi Chad! I'm very glad you're liking the game. We may have a certain kind of vehicle coming up later on, but I won't say anything more for now!

Apple gets 30%. I think there are many people who would have been willing to wait months more for a big $10 Minigore to hit the (virtual) shelves, but since we love getting feedback and the whole idea of iterative development, we wanted to put the game out for a buck and give people a chance to say what they want to play. I believe it can only make Minigore a better game. :)

A little hut would be really epic! I think, however, we are going to save something like that for Hardgore and follow the path of straightforward core gameplay with Minigore. That said, I totally get your point about challenge and you are going to have to earn the new characters (and each character's ability, later on) for single-player. The ones coming in Episode 4, that is.

I know, you wouldn't have thought there was a booby trap in the crate! Talking about unsuspecting... "Hey, what's this guy doing shooting an ammo cr--BOOM!!"

    ReplyDelete
  41. um.. if you guys are going to put an ammunition system on the next update please add a pistol or a sidearm to use in case john runs out of ammo

    ReplyDelete
  42. What you should also put in the update is stats like how many furries killed, distance walked, accuracy, and bullets fired

    ReplyDelete
  43. wann kommt den endlich der update?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Suggestion for mini-boss Wormwolf.
He dies if shot in the head too many times, but when John shoots at him, he curls his body around his head, so if j shoots and divides his torso, there are two of him. Making him more dangerous when he grows longer from eating furries.

    ReplyDelete
  45. are the "episodes" 3 different games or 2 updates?

    ReplyDelete
  46. You should include like a grenade that is only dropped by really difficult to kill enemies, and it can be activated by tapping the 'Move' stick three times. And it would clear every furry off the screen and give Gore the points for all of them. And also sometimes the clovers are dropped in the 'Unreachable' areas outside of the map, you should include a bug fix that makes sure they are never dropped in unreachable areas. Otherwise it's a perfect game. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  47. are you still doing this mushroom idea?

    ReplyDelete
  48. the game is great i admit it. however i think there are some vital changes in episode 3 after the last update i think fire sensitivity have been increased and also what is the point being a bear if there is no advantage of it. i would like to spend my kill count to beneficial things. thanks and keep it up.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @serbay: Sensitivity hasn't been decreased, but it is possible that the framerate is just a bit different depending on which character you play. The point of being a bear? It's intimidating as hell to hear it go roooooooooar! I barely dare play Enviro...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yup I have the same problem.

they kinda do need to respond to these comments or what is this blog good for

    ReplyDelete
  51. autosave dosen't work.
    any idea what to do?

    ReplyDelete
  52. when is the 4 episode update released?

    ReplyDelete
  53. hi timo the game is GREAT i have 3 ideas that you could include in minigoree
1 gunless mode, you just have to run away from furies, no fire or predator furies on this one but some kind of new fury like invinciible fury or rhhino fury
2story modde, fight furies to fill the blod bar and when it is full you get your life back and a boss apears, bosses could be the chef, octopus vudu doll and of course the master of puppets!
3sandboox mode, buttons on the top to make appear furies off all kinds guns clovers bosses or any other thing in the game

my keeyboard is kinda wierd so sorry forr all the mistakes!
